Here is a really easy way to make a regular old garter stitch scarf look super cool. This is an easy and quick knit. It's addictive!
Yarn: Any Super Bulky Yarn (I used Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick & Quick on this one)
Needles: Size 13
Cast on 18 stitches. Knit in garter stitch (knit all rows) until scarf is as long as you would like it - generally the height of the person it is for.
When desired length is knit, bind off 15 Stitches and close off.
Unravel the 3 remaining stitches all the way down the long side of the scarf. This will make the SUPER LOOPS! Weave in ends.
Pattern Notes: You can use any yarn or needles you like to create different versions of this scarf. You can also cast on as many stitches as you like, also unraveling more or less than 3 stitches to create longer or shorter super loops. I made a small swatch to see how wide I wanted the scarf to be and how long I wanted the super loops. Have fun! Add stripes - use different stitch patterns - do anything you like - just leave a few stitches un-bound off for the super loops!
Is there a way to do it so there are super loops on both sides of the scarf?

Is there a way to create a border on the looped side?

At the end of the instructions - you say "Weave in ends" - does that mean knotting the final stitch before unraveling? Or is there something special to do so it does not unravel into the body of the scarf? I belong to a church
group that makes Prayer Shawls, I decided to enlarge this pattern (casting on
60 stitches (plus 10 more for the loops.) It looks great !!!! but I don't know if
it will hold up without some stitching down....
Thank you for any help you can give me. I got this pattern off of a Knitting calendar & have kept it until now to make.
Thank you --- Phyllis Johnson
